What a proper tune actually involves.
Tuning a modern European car is not a file transfer. The calibration has to match the hardware on the car, the fuel you actually put in it, and the condition of the engine underneath — which is why every car here is scanned and inspected before any map is written.
The order matters. Boost leaks and tired spark plugs read as fuelling problems and hide genuine knock behaviour, so they get resolved first. Once the mechanical side is honest, we write the calibration and validate it with logged road data across full load and part throttle, then review the logs with you.
Full scan before anything
Every module read for stored and pending faults. Existing issues resolved before calibration, not tuned around.
Pressure-test the charge system
Charge pipes, couplers and intake tract checked. A small leak will ruin an otherwise good calibration.
Fuel system and plugs
Plugs on interval and gapped to spec, fuel trims and rail pressure logged. Fuelling headroom checked before boost targets are raised.
Cooling headroom
Intake and oil temperatures logged. Sustained power is a thermal problem long before it is a software one.
Gearbox in sync
DSG, ZF and DCT calibrations written alongside the engine map where the platform allows — torque handover, shift speed, launch behaviour.
Stock file backed up
Every car's factory calibration is saved so it can be returned to standard for a dealer visit or sale.
