Apex Performance Tuning is an independent European and performance car specialist workshop at Unit 4/6 Woodbine Court, Wantirna South VIC 3152, servicing greater Melbourne. We are not a dealership.
Performance part installation and ECU tuning is carried out to manufacturer specification with genuine or OEM-equivalent parts and manufacturer-level diagnostic software (BMW ISTA, VAG ODIS/VCDS, Porsche PIWIS, Mercedes XENTRY), so your statutory and new-car warranty stays intact.

We do the full spectrum — from a single bolt-on through to building an engine and fitting downpipes on the same car. Every job is specced around the goal: daily-driver response, weekend track car, or a real, repeatable power target.
On BMW we tune through MHD and bootmod3 (BM3). Beyond BMW we use the right tool for the engine — EcuTek, HP Tuners, Cobb Accessport, Syvecs and MoTeC standalone — calibrated in-house or by the specialist tuner for the platform.
Custom fabrication isn't done in-house — we project-manage it through established professionals in the trade. Custom fuel systems — port injection, larger pumps and injectors, E85 hardware — are built before the tune is finalised. Every part is supplied, fitted and itemised by Apex.

Want more power without affecting your factory warranty? We supply and fit RaceChip plug-in tuning modules on a huge range of petrol and diesel platforms. Genuine power and torque gains, fully reversible in minutes, no permanent ECU changes — your dealer can't tell it's there.

MHD and bootmod3 are our day-to-day platforms on BMW. For everything else we use the right tool for the engine — EcuTek for Nissan / Subaru / Toyota Supra, HP Tuners for late-model GM and Mopar, Cobb Accessport for Subaru / Ford / Porsche, and Syvecs / MoTeC standalone for high-power and race builds. Calibration handled in-house or by the specialist tuner who actually knows your platform.

Bottom-end and head builds for high-power BMW S- and B-series, R35 GT-R VR38, B58 Supra and similar platforms. Forged pistons, rods, ARP hardware, head studs, valvetrain — built to support the power target and the way you'll drive it.

Port-injection conversions, low- and high-pressure pump upgrades, larger injectors, fuel-rail upgrades and E85 / flex-fuel hardware. We design the fuel system around the power target before the tune is touched.

Big-brake kit fitment, coilovers, lowering springs, sway bars, arms and bushes from leading performance brands — supplied through our trade accounts and fitted with full alignment on our laser rig.

What can you actually build — how far do you go?+
From a downpipe and a tune through to a fully-built engine with forged internals, upgraded turbos, custom fuel system and standalone calibration. We do the full spectrum — and we're upfront about which jobs we handle in-house and which are project-managed through trusted partners.
Which tuning platforms do you use?+
MHD and bootmod3 (BM3) are our daily-driver platforms on BMW M, N-series, B58 Supra and GR Yaris. Beyond BMW we run EcuTek (Nissan GT-R, Subaru, Supra, Lexus), HP Tuners (GM, Dodge / SRT, late-model Ford and Mopar), Cobb Accessport (Subaru, Ford, Porsche, Mazda) and Syvecs / MoTeC standalone for high-power and race builds. Each platform gets the right software and the right tuner for the job — never a one-size-fits-all flash.
Which parts brands do you supply and fit?+
We carry trade accounts with MODE Auto Concepts, Eventuri, Valvetronic Designs, VRSF, Performance Brands Australia and the major OEM suppliers. We also work closely with Eurowerke in Sydney for additional sourcing and platform expertise. Every part fitted is itemised on your invoice with the brand listed.
Do you do custom fabrication in-house?+
No. Custom fabrication work — one-off pipework, mounts, bracketry — is project-managed through established professionals in the trade. You get the right specialist for the job, with Apex managing the build end-to-end so it integrates cleanly with the rest of the work.
Can you build a custom fuel system?+
Yes — port-injection conversions, low- and high-pressure pump upgrades, larger injectors, fuel-rail upgrades and E85 / flex-fuel hardware. The fuel system is always specced around the power target before the tune is locked in.
Can I add power without affecting my factory warranty?+
Yes — that's exactly what RaceChip is for. RaceChip plug-in tuning modules deliver genuine power and torque gains, install in minutes and unplug just as quickly. There's no permanent change to the factory ECU and no diagnostic trace, so your warranty stays intact. We supply and fit RaceChip across a huge range of petrol and diesel platforms.
Will a full ECU tune affect my factory warranty?+
A flashed ECU tune (MHD, BM3, EcuTek, HP Tuners, Cobb) can affect manufacturer warranty on related components — we're upfront about what's at stake before you commit. MHD and BM3 are flashable platforms, so reversible / stock-flash solutions are available on most BMW and B58 platforms. If keeping warranty is the priority, we'd point you at RaceChip instead.
Do you tune on 98 RON, E85 or flex-fuel?+
All three. We tune to whatever fuel you'll actually run, and flex-fuel setups let the ECU adapt automatically as the ethanol content changes. The fuel system needs to support the choice — we'll cover that at the spec stage.
How much power can I expect?+
Depends on the platform, supporting hardware and fuel. We give you a realistic, conservative estimate at the spec stage and verified datalogs on completion — no inflated numbers.
Is the car still daily-drivable after tuning?+
That's the brief on most builds. A well-executed tune sharpens response and adds power without making the car a chore in traffic. We calibrate to suit how you actually use the car.
