DQ381 (7-speed wet)
Mk7.5 and Mk8 Golf R, current-gen S3, RS3 (some variants). VW G055540 spec fluid, filter, level set on temperature.
- 03
DQ500 (7-speed wet, high-torque)
8V/8Y RS3, TT RS, TTS certain variants. Different spec fluid, different service procedure, needs specific attention.

Longitudinal variant in some Audi RS models. Different platform to the DQ family — we handle it correctly.
- 05
Mechatronic diagnostic
Every DSG service includes an ODIS check of adaption values, clutch temperatures, and pressure sensor behaviour. If the mechatronic is developing an issue we see it before you feel it.
- 06
Software updates & adaption
DSG firmware updates from VW where applicable, adaption values reset properly, clutch engagement points re-learned.
Dealer-grade work.
Without the dealer wait-list.
- 01
DSG specialists
We do these services every week. Every DSG variant, every torque class, every VW/Audi/Skoda platform.
- 02
Correct fluid, every time
Wrong fluid destroys a DSG faster than skipping the service entirely. G052182 is not G055540 — we use the exact VW-spec fluid for your specific unit.
- 03
Real service — not a top-up
Proper drain, filter replacement, pan clean, level set on temperature to VW procedure. Not a syringe of fluid through the fill port.
- 04
ODIS-verified
Adaption values checked, clutch temps logged, pressure sensor behaviour verified. We tell you the state of your mechatronic, not just 'it feels fine'.
- 05
Honest interval advice
VW says 60,000 km. On tuned or hard-driven cars we recommend earlier — sometimes 30,000–40,000 km. We'll tell you what your specific car actually needs.
- 06
Full transparency on every job
You get the exact fluid spec used, the adaption values before and after, clutch temperature logs, and a line-itemised invoice that names every part fitted.
Common questions,
straight answers.
How often should I service my DSG?+
VW's schedule is 60,000 km on most wet-clutch DSGs. On tuned or hard-driven cars (Stage 1+, launched frequently, tracked) we recommend 30,000–50,000 km. Dry-clutch DQ200s have different intervals — call us if you have one.
How much does a DSG service cost in Melbourne?+
It depends on the specific gearbox — fluid volume, filter type and access all differ between DQ250, DQ381, DQ500 and DL382 units. Send us your VIN and we come back with a written quote for your exact gearbox before any work starts.
What are the symptoms of a DSG that needs service?+
Hesitation from a stop, harsh 1-2 or 2-3 upshifts, judder at low speed in traffic, delayed engagement when going D-to-R or R-to-D. Also — no symptoms but you're past interval. Don't wait for symptoms; mechatronic damage from degraded fluid is expensive.
Can you fix a slipping DSG?+
Depends on the cause. Some slip is fluid-related and clears after a proper service and adaption reset. Some is worn clutch packs or mechatronic damage — that's a bigger job. We diagnose first, quote on what we actually find.
Do you do the 'lifetime fluid' argument?+
No. There is no such thing as lifetime fluid in a DSG. VW's own service literature confirms fluid changes are required, and we've seen enough cooked mechatronics on 'unserviced' 120,000km cars to know what the outcome looks like.
Where are you located?+
Wantirna South, South East Melbourne. Easy from Knox, Ringwood, Glen Waverley and the eastern suburbs. Call 0483 939 216 to book.
Ready for a proper quote?
Send your registration or VIN, current kilometres and what the car needs. We come back with the scope in writing — usually within the business day — and nothing extra is carried out without your approval.
