What we do

Every service, every job —
done properly.

Manufacturer-spec intervals, dealer-level diagnostics and OEM-grade parts. Every service is quoted in writing against your VIN before work begins, with a clear, line-itemised breakdown.

  • 01

    Log book service

Porsche factory-spec service to manufacturer intervals. Correct oil, correct filters, service reset via PIWIS (dealer-level), log book stamped.

  • 02

    Diagnostics & fault-finding

PIWIS (dealer-level) for dealer-level scanning. Every module read, stored faults logged, live-data analysed — we find the real problem, not the easy one to sell.

  • 03

    Repairs & maintenance

From coolant leaks and worn suspension to timing chain guides, turbo work and gearbox rebuilds. Diagnosed properly, quoted upfront, fixed to factory standard.

  • 04

    Brake fluid & coolant

Not optional maintenance — brake fluid every 2 years, coolant on manufacturer interval. Real fluid changes done properly.

  • 05

    Performance & tuning

Flash tuning where appropriate on MA1/MA2 flat-six, MDG.MA flat-six turbo, M96/M97, VR6 hybrid (Cayenne/Panamera) platforms. Supporting hardware installed correctly and calibration matched to the parts.

  • 06

    Pre-purchase inspections

Buying used in Doncaster or nearby? On-hoist inspection, full diagnostic scan, road test and a same-day written report before you sign.

Why Apex

Dealer-grade work.
Without the dealer wait-list.

  • 01

    Doncaster's local Porsche specialist

Just 15 minutes from Doncaster (3108). Most of our Doncaster clients drop the car off and arrange transport home or to work. Pickup and drop-off is available by prior arrangement, subject to location and availability.

  • 02

    Porsche specialists — every day

911 (996/997/991/992), Cayman, Boxster, Macan, Cayenne, Panamera, Taycan — serviced here regularly, with the platform-specific items checked as a matter of course.

  • 03

    Dealer-level equipment

PIWIS (dealer-level), correct scan tools, factory torque specs. We're set up to service these cars the way the manufacturer intended.

  • 04

    Warranty preserved

We service to Porsche factory specification and stamp your log book — Australian Consumer Law protects your statutory warranty when serviced properly at a qualified independent workshop.

  • 05

    Independent, not dealer

Dealer-level tooling and factory-spec parts, with the attention your specific car actually needs — and a written quote before anything starts.

  • 06

    OEM parts on request

Genuine Porsche parts on request; otherwise Porsche-approved suppliers (Bosch, Mahle, Bilstein) matching factory spec exactly.

Deep dive

Porsche — flat-six, PDK, PIWIS, and the correct procedure every time.

911 (996/997/991/992), Cayman/Boxster (987/981/718), Macan, Cayenne and Panamera all serviced regularly. Each has a service profile that needs specific tooling and specific knowledge — a general workshop that treats a Cayenne like an SUV misses the point entirely.

The 987 M97 IMS bearing story is well understood — inspected and LN Engineering IMS retrofit quoted where appropriate. The 991.2/992 3.0T flat-six has coolant and oil-separator considerations. The 718 flat-four turbo has carbon-buildup considerations and specific plug intervals.

PIWIS 3 — the dealer-level Porsche scan platform — is on every visit. Coding, adaptations, firmware updates and live-data logging done properly, not with a generic scanner.

Porsche servicing for Doncaster owners.

The workshop is at Unit 4/6 Woodbine Court, Wantirna South VIC 3152 — about 15 minutes from Doncaster (3108) depending on traffic. Doncaster sits alongside Doncaster East, Templestowe, Bulleen in the 3108 catchment, and owners from all of them use the workshop.

Most Doncaster owners book a day ahead, drop the car in the morning and arrange their own transport onward; there is a customer area if you would rather wait. Pickup and drop-off is available by prior arrangement, subject to location and availability — we do not offer loan cars.

Routine servicing is usually same-day. Larger work — transmission servicing, timing-system repairs, cooling repairs, intake cleaning or turbo work — is quoted with a realistic in-and-out timeline before we start, so you can plan around it.

Porsche weak points we check by default.

Every Porsche service includes a proper multi-point inspection — not a tickbox sheet. These are the platform-specific items we look at as a matter of course, photographed on the hoist and quoted only if action is genuinely needed:

  • IMS bearing (987 M97 early)

Inspected at service — LN Engineering retrofit quoted where appropriate.

  • PDK fluid

60–80k km interval — not 'lifetime'. Correct spec, factory procedure.

  • Rear main seal & AOS

Known 996/997 items — inspected, replaced with OEM or upgraded parts.

  • Coolant lines (Cayenne/Panamera)

Age-related failures — inspected every service, replaced proactively where cracked.

  • Carbon buildup (718 turbo, 991.2)

Walnut blasting around 80–100k km on direct-injection Porsches.

  • Water pump & thermostat

Standard maintenance items on a Porsche — inspected and replaced with OEM.

Porsche tuning — where appropriate.

COBB, EcuTek, PIWIS-adjacent flash tuning where the platform supports it. 991.2 and 992 turbo flat-six respond very well to Stage 1 with correct calibration; 718 turbo four is similar. Naturally aspirated flat-sixes (997.1 GT3, 987/981/718 Cayman GT4) we service and maintain — modification is generally not the correct path.

Track-day prep — brake fluid, pad choice, alignment, coolant — handled properly for 911 GT3 and Cayman GT4 clients running Sandown, Winton or Phillip Island.

How a first visit works.

Send your rego or VIN through the quote form or call 0483 939 216. We look up your car's build spec, come back with a written, line-itemised quote — usually the same business day. No surprises, no 'we opened it up and now you need more'.

Drop the car in the morning, or book it a few days ahead. On arrival we do a full PIWIS scan first — every module, stored and pending faults — before any spanner touches the car. If we find anything beyond the original job, we photograph it, quote it in writing, and only proceed with your written approval.

You leave with a stamped log book (where applicable), a completed service and inspection sheet, and a plain-English summary of what we did and what to expect at the next interval.

Questions

Common questions,
straight answers.

Is Apex actually near Doncaster?+

Our workshop is in Wantirna South (15 minutes from Doncaster). Most of our Doncaster clients drop the car in the morning and either wait or arrange transport back to work — the drive is quick and we're set up for a wide catchment across Melbourne's east.

How much does a Porsche service cost?+

Depends on model, year and interval. Send us your rego or VIN and we'll come back with a written, line-itemised quote based on your vehicle, VIN and required service scope — usually same business day.

Will independent service void my Porsche warranty?+

No. Australian Consumer Law protects your statutory warranty when your Porsche is serviced at a qualified independent workshop using correct-specification parts and manufacturer procedures. We follow the manufacturer schedule and, where applicable, stamp the physical service book.

Do you use genuine Porsche parts?+

Genuine OEM on request — just say so when booking. Otherwise we fit reputable OE-quality or OEM-equivalent parts (Bosch, Mahle, NGK, Pierburg, ZF where applicable) that meet the required factory specification. Every part is line-itemised on your invoice.

What documentation do I get?+

Where applicable, the physical service book is stamped. Every completed service is supported by an itemised invoice, completed service and inspection sheet and relevant photo/video evidence. We do not write to manufacturer-controlled service-history systems.

Can I drop off in the morning?+

Yes — most Doncaster clients drop the car and arrange their own transport back to work. Some come from further out and wait in the customer area. Pickup and drop-off is available by prior arrangement, subject to location and availability; we do not offer loan cars.

Where exactly is the workshop?+

Apex Performance Tuning is at Unit 4/6 Woodbine Court, Wantirna South VIC 3152 — 15 minutes from Doncaster. Easy from EastLink, the M1 and most of Melbourne's east and inner east. Call 0483 939 216 for booking.
