AMG C63, E63, GT, GLE 63 and G63 make up the core of the Mercedes-Benz work in the workshop. M156 6.2, M157 5.5 biturbo and M177 4.0 biturbo — each with a maintenance profile a general workshop is unlikely to know cold.

The M156 cam-lobe wear issue is well documented — every W204 C63 through the workshop is inspected at service, and if wear is present, head work is quoted openly rather than deferred. The M177 requires proper turbo-oil-feed line inspection, coolant on interval and expansion-tank checks. Not optional, not deferred.

M133 and M139 — the world's most powerful production 4-cylinders — need particular attention to cooling, intercooling and turbo behaviour. Stage 1 flash tuning on M139 pushes the A45 S well past 480 hp with correct calibration and safe knock margins.

The workshop is at Unit 4/6 Woodbine Court, Wantirna South VIC 3152 — about 22 minutes from Carnegie (3163) depending on traffic. Carnegie sits alongside Murrumbeena, Malvern East, Ormond in the 3163 catchment, and owners from all of them use the workshop.

Most Carnegie owners book a day ahead, drop the car in the morning and arrange their own transport onward; there is a customer area if you would rather wait. Pickup and drop-off is available by prior arrangement, subject to location and availability — we do not offer loan cars.

Routine servicing is usually same-day. Larger work — transmission servicing, timing-system repairs, cooling repairs, intake cleaning or turbo work — is quoted with a realistic in-and-out timeline before we start, so you can plan around it.

Every Mercedes service includes a proper multi-point inspection — not a tickbox sheet. These are the platform-specific items we look at as a matter of course, photographed on the hoist and quoted only if action is genuinely needed:

• M156 cam-lobe wear

  W204 M156 known issue. Inspected at every service, head work quoted openly when present.

• M156 head-bolt corrosion

  Some builds affected — updated bolts and correct torque procedure on repair.

• MCT & 9G-tronic fluid

  Not 'lifetime fill' — fluid on interval, correct spec, factory procedure.

• Turbo oil-feed lines (M177)

  Checked every service — small preventive job vs a big failure.

• Airmatic components

  Fail on heavy V8s. Diagnosed, quoted, repaired with OEM or specialist parts.

• SBC brakes (older W211/W219)

  Specialist procedure — we handle these correctly, not by generalists.

M133, M139, M157 and M177 all respond very well to flash tuning. Stage 1 on M177 pushes E63/C63 well past 700 hp on stock hardware with correct calibration on 98 or E-blend. Downpipes and intercooling for Stage 2. Warranty is a real conversation on newer cars — we're honest about it before we start.
