Clean-down & UV dye trace
Engine degreased, dye added, car driven, then re-inspected under UV. The leak gets identified, not guessed at.

Valve cover gasket
The most common BMW leak — gasket hardens and oil runs onto the exhaust manifold, causing that hot-oil smell. OE gasket, correct torque sequence.

Oil filter housing gasket
Classic N20/N55/N63 leak that drips onto the belt and alternator. Done properly with the housing off, not sealed from outside.

Sump & timing cover
Sump gasket and timing cover leaks on the front of the engine, resealed to factory spec with correct cure time before refill.

Rear main & gearbox seals
Where the leak is at the bellhousing, we quote the gearbox-out job honestly and inspect the clutch or torque converter while we're in there.

PCV / crankcase pressure check
A leaking gasket is often a symptom of high crankcase pressure. We test the PCV so the new gasket isn't pushed out too.

Why does my BMW smell like burning oil but not drip?+
Usually a valve cover gasket leaking onto the hot exhaust manifold — the oil burns off before it reaches the ground. Very common and straightforward to correct.
Can you fix an oil leak without pulling the engine apart?+
Most BMW leaks are external gaskets and seals — valve cover, filter housing, sump, timing cover. Only rear main seal work needs the gearbox out, and we'd confirm that with a dye trace first.
Is it safe to keep driving?+
Minor seepage, usually yes for a short period. Oil onto a hot manifold or belt is a fire and breakdown risk — get it looked at promptly.
